A hospital official said that he has been admitted after complaining of chest pain. The condition of 48-year-old Ganguly is stable and has been admitted to the emergency ward of the hospital.

According to a report in the Indian Express, Dr. Rupali Basu, MD and CEO, Woodlands said that Ganguly’s family had a family history of heart disease and is being treated with anti-platelet and statins. He was brought here around 1 pm. His plus 70 per minute, BP 130/80 mm Hg and other clinical parameters were in normal ranges. He has a hyperacute ST segment in his ECG.
