
Japan Olympics 2021: On Thursday, PM Modi reviewed India’s preparation for the Olympic Games to be held in Japan. According to the information released by the PMO, PM Modi was apprised of the steps taken to ensure uninterrupted training of athletes amid the pandemic. Apart from this, PM Modi was apprised about participation in international competition and vaccination of athletes to win Olympic quota. According to the information, PM Modi directed for the early vaccination of all qualified / potential athletes, support staff and officials going for the Tokyo Olympics.

Will encourage players through video conferencing in July
PM Modi said that he will contact the team going to participate in the Olympics by video conferencing in July and encourage them to win and wish them all the best on behalf of the Indians. According to the PMO, Prime Minister Modi was informed that 100 athletes have qualified for 11 types of sports and another 25 athletes are likely to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics. Apart from this, 26 para athletes have also qualified and 16 other para athletes are likely to qualify.

Tokyo Olympic Games to start from July 23
