Due to this the match of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and KKR was postponed. Shortly after, the report of the bowling coach being Kovid positive came from CSK’s camp. After which it was believed that CSK would not play its match on Wednesday. At the same time, there were clouds of crisis in the match between Mumbai Indians and SRH. In view of this, the IPL had to be suspended midway.
BCCI has confirmed
BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla has confirmed that IPL 2021 has been postponed. He gave this information through tweet. He said that we have taken this decision after talking to the teams, broadcasters and everyone involved in it. The decision to postpone the IPL was taken especially in view of the sentiment and the current situation in the country. For us the health of the players is paramount and BCCI will always put safety first. We’ll meet again soon and decide when we can conclude this edition. IPL chairman Brijesh Patel told PTI that the tournament has been postponed indefinitely. We will try to organize it whenever possible in future, but it is not likely to happen in this month.
