IPL 2020: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 will be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from 19 September to 8 November. This will be a full flanged tournament. IPL chairman Brijesh Patel gave this information on Friday. The governing council of the event will meet next week to finalize the details and schedule, but it is understood that the BCCI has unofficially informed the franchise about the plan.
There will be a full 51 days of play
Patel told that the Governing Council will meet in a while and decide the program. IPL will run from 19 September to 8 November. They told that they are waiting for the approval of the government. This is the full 51 days IPL.
The IPL has become possible after the decision of the ICC to postpone the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia in October-November 2020. The host country had expressed its inability to organize the IPL due to the corona virus epidemic. Patel said that the Standard Operating Procedure is being prepared to fight the corona epidemic and the BCCI will officially write to the Emirates Cricket Board in this matter.

SOP is being prepared
Patel said that they are preparing the SOP and it will be ready in a few days. Whether to approve the crowd or not will depend on the government of the UAE. There are three grounds available in the UAE – Dubai International Stadium, Sheikh Zayed Stadium (Abu Dhabi) and Sharjah Ground. It is believed that BCCI will rent these grounds of ICC Academy for training of teams.
