
Former Indian cricketer Chetan Chauhan passed away on Sunday. He was infected with coronavirus. His death was informed by his younger brother Pushpendra Chauhan. Chetan Chauhan breathed his last at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram. Chetan was also a minister in the UP government. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief over his death. Chauhan has played 40 Test matches for India. His age was 73 years. Chauhan was the longest opening cricketer along with Sunil Gavaskar. After turning out to be Kovid positive, Chauhan was admitted to Sanjay Gandhi PGI in Lucknow on 12 July. Chouhan’s condition deteriorated due to kidney related ailments and he was shifted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram. There he was on life support for about 36 hours.
Chouhan is the second minister of the UP government, who has lost his life from Corona. Earlier on August 2, UP Government’s Technical Education Minister Kamala Rani Varun died of this epidemic. She was 62 years old.

At present, Chouhan was the MLA of Naugaowa assembly of Amroha district.
