The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Indian team for the 5-match Test series against England and the World Test Championship final against New Zealand. BCCI has announced 20 members, in which two people will be approved on the basis of fitness. Opening batsman Prithvi Shaw has not been included in these 20 members. Apart from Prithvi Shaw, all-rounder Hardik Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have also not been included in this squad. Apart from this, the selection committee has also kept four stand-by players in the squad as the WTC final and the Test series against England will be played in a bio-secure environment due to the Corona epidemic.
On the other hand, in a conversation with the Indian Express, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly gave information about the possible plan of vaccination for this tour. Ganguly said that he can personally get the dose of corona vaccine.

Shaw out of the team despite his best performance in IPL

After better performances in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and the Indian Premier League (IPL), it was being speculated that Shaw might get a place on the England tour. However, the selectors selected the players according to the change in seam and swing in the red ball as compared to the test format and the white ball. The selection committee also did not include all-rounder Hardik Pandya in the team as he has been away from bowling for some time. Despite playing in the IPL, Bhuvneshwar Kumar did not get a place in the Test team.
